Reference Case Number: FOI2026/01147

Freedom of Information: Right to know request:

Please provide the number and total value of regulated mortgage sales with advances greater than or equal to £5 million for Q1 2026 if it is now available?

If not, could you please send us the data for full 12-month periods using the latest year end at which you hold the information? For example, if the latest data you hold covers up to 28 February 2026, we would like to request the latest five years of data, with each covering the period from 1 March to 28 February.

Please note that we are unable to disclose the requested information at the same level of granularity as in our previous response (FOI2026/00851), as some of the information is exempt from disclosure under section 40(2) of FOIA.

As reflected in the tables above, the South West and ‘Rest of UK’ regions have been aggregated. This is because, due to the low number of sales completed in those areas during Q1 2026, providing the granular data to each area would result in the identification of individual transactions and, therefore, reveal personal information relating to identifiable individuals. For more information on why we are applying this exemption please see Annex A.

We have instead provided aggregated data, which we hope is helpful. London and the South East continue to be presented separately, consistent with previous disclosures.
