In relation to OPBAS 2020/21 annual report, Paragraph 5.1 states that OPBAS has used its powers of direction on four occasions since 2018. Could you supply me figures for the times OPBAS has used its powers of direction but broken down by year?

We understand your question relates to paragraph 5.1 of our 2020/2021 OPBAS annual report which states that “we have used our Regulation 14 power of direction against 4 PBSs”. However, we note your question refers to us having used our power of direction on “4 occasions”. Below we have provided a table showing the number of separate occasions on which PBSs were issued directions by OPBAS since 2018:

We would like to clarify that 2 directions were issued to 1 PBS in 2019. Please also note that since the publication of our report, we have issued 1 further direction in 2021 meaning we have used our Regulation 14 power of direction against 5 PBSs, on a total of 6 separate occasions.
