Fund Ourselves Limited enters administration

On 21 July 2025, Fund Ourselves Limited (FOL) was placed into administration. Louise Brittain and Robert Young of Azets Holdings Limited were appointed as Joint Administrators.

Fund Ourselves Limited mainly operated as a lender of high-cost short-term credit loans. It also operated a small peer-to-peer lending platform and facilitated crowdfunded loans that were used to finance high-cost short-term credit loans.

The Joint Administrators have been appointed to wind down the firm in an orderly way in the interests of its creditors. They will be writing to all known creditors shortly to explain what this means and how to make a claim.

On 11 April 2025, we took action against FOL to restrict its assets and its permissions[1] to carry out regulatory activities.

The firm is no longer lending or accepting peer-to-peer investments. However, all existing loan agreements remain in place and the Joint Administrators will update customers as soon as possible. Any payment arrangements currently in place will not be affected and customers should continue to make payments as normal.

We are engaging with the firm and the Joint Administrators to seek to ensure the best outcomes for customers. Customers who are struggling financially can get free and impartial guidance from MoneyHelper[2].

Customers and retail investors of FOL are generally not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). The Joint Administrators will give more details about how any complaints will be dealt with in due course.

Support for customers

Why has this firm been placed into administration? 

A creditor of the firm concluded that the firm was insolvent and applied to Court for an administration order. The Joint Administrators are now responsible for the firm’s affairs and must act in the interest of the firm’s creditors.

What should investors do now? 

The Joint Administrators are now responsible for the business of Fund Ourselves Limited. Investors should shortly receive an update from the Joint Administrators with further information.

What will happen to customers now that the business has been placed in administration? Where do my loan repayments get made to?

All existing loan agreements remain in place and will not be affected by the proposed administration. However, the firm is no longer able to issue new loans. Please await further information from the Joint Administrators.

Will customers be covered by the FSCS for any outstanding complaints/ redress or refunds now that the firm has gone into administration? 

Generally, there is no Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) cover for consumer credit lenders or peer-to-peer lending platforms. However, it is for the FSCS to determine whether any claims made to it are eligible for compensation.

Please await further information from the Joint Administrators about next steps for customers who may be due redress or refunds.

What will happen to my Innovative Finance ISA (IFISA) now that the firm has gone into administration/liquidation?

The Joint Administrators will take control of the firm’s assets and operations, including its ISA business, and will assess how best to manage customer accounts.

Please note that peer-to-peer investments, even when held in an ISA wrapper, are generally not protected by the FSCS. Your money is at risk and recovery will depend on the performance of the underlying loans and the outcome of the administration process.

Can I still withdraw money from my ISA or transfer it to another provider?

During administration, normal operations such as withdrawals and transfers can be paused or restricted. The administrators will provide updates on whether and when you’ll be able to access or transfer your ISA funds.

Please get in touch with the Joint Administrators for the firm before attempting to move or withdraw funds. If you have urgent concerns, you may wish to seek independent financial advice.

I have invested in an Innovative Finance ISA (IFISA) on Fund Ourselves platform – will the administration impact the tax-free status?

The tax status is a matter for HMRC. If customers have questions regarding tax on their investments, they may wish to contact HMRC or seek independent financial advice.

What happens to customers who have ongoing cases at the Financial Ombudsman Service?
